Diamond

The name diamond is derived from the ancient Greek ἀδάμας (adámas), "unbreakable, untamed", from ἀ- (a-), "un-" + δαμάω (damáō), "to overpower, to tame"[4]. They have been treasured as gemstones since their use as religious icons in ancient India
